Flour City
After meeting with the Seward Neighborhood Group we found out about a resident, Dick Westby, who was doing historical research on six buildings in the Seward Neighborhood. Inspired by his research, we found images from the history of the Ivy Building, formerly Flour City, a block square foundry that made ornamental metal castings but is now artists’ spaces.
The resulting images were collected into a slide show that we presented on the ivy covered surface of the building. This was an experiment using historical documentation to present the story of the building.
